Sweet Potato Soul
This vegan cookbook isn’t average. Author Jenné Claiborne is authentic, vibrant and deeply knowledgeable. To reflect that I used mixed typography, a bright color palette and illustrated borders that I used throughout. I had just come back from mat leave when I was assigned this book - it was a mad rush, but the great energy I had w/ the editor made this a huge pleasure. I was SO happy to design something for Jenné, her food’s spirit is close (but not the same) as my native Trinidad. My art director was hugely supportive, and her belief in me made this book very special to me.
